Dance Class Attire

All Downstage Center Female Presenting Dancers must wear appropriate dance clothes. 

Required 

Dance Tights (any color, convertible recommended) NO PANTYHOSE! Hip Hop III/IV tights optional.

Ballet skirts for Ballet I & II

(Select Sizes Available at Downstage Center Dance Studio)

 • Musical Theater: Movement-Comfortable Clothes. No jeans or dresses.

Recommended

Leotard, tank top, form fitted dance shorts or jazz pants

DO NOT WEAR

-Jeans, zippers or any Denim material clothes

-Sweat Pants (maybe worn for warm up then must be removed for class. Allowed in Hip Hop III/IV)

-School Clothes, Gym clothes, Sports clothes

-Pajamas

ANYTHING THAT YOU COULD WEAR TO SCHOOL OR OUTSIDE WITH FRIENDS IS NOT DANCE CLOTHES. ONLY DANCERS IN PROPER ATTIRE ARE PERMITTED TO DANCE. Questions? Email Dani

If an instructor feels that a dancer is not dressed properly, they will be asked to call home for a change of clothes or sit out.

Male Presenting Dancers-  Athletic Wear. No Jeans/Denim.

• Tap I, II, III, IV & Adult:

Shoes:  Bloch S0301 or S0302 (tan).  Or:  "Respect", "Audeo", "Jason Samuel Smith"

(Boys & Men order Black)

DO NOT ORDER SPLIT SOLE TAP SHOES!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Black jazz shoes

Hip Hop II, III, IV

• Modern, Lyrical, Contemporary:

Choice of: No Shoes, foot undies/turners, Tan Jazz Shoes

 • Musical Theater:

Movement-Comfortable Clothes. No jeans or dresses. Footwear: BLACK JAZZ SHOES.

Please check with Dani before purchasing a style that is not listed. Only specific shoes can be worn on our top quality performance floors.

Is it ok to wear my dance shoes outside?

NO! DO NOT EVER WEAR YOUR DANCE SHOES OUTSIDE FOR ANY REASON.
